Martha Jane Wilson, 87, passed away Monday, Aug. 4, 2014, in Arlington, Texas.

She was born Nov. 5, 1926, in Raytown.

She started her working career during WWII at Lake City Arsenal. She also owned and operated a boarding home in Kansas City for 20 years as a single mother. She was a community service director for the Iowa Conference for the Seventh-day Adventist Church.

She loved gardening, being outdoors and spending time with her family. Her greatest passion was helping others by delivering the Word of God and his love for all. She found joy leading others to God and giving of herself.

She spent the last year-and-a-half in Arlington with her husband, Philip, her daughter, Ann, and her two dogs, Joy and Lil Bit.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a sister; and a daughter, Rose Elaine Larkin.

Survivors include her husband, Philip C. Wilson; three daughters, Ann Wehling of Arlington, Texas, Debra Carmitchell and Susan Larkin; three grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

Graveside services were Thursday, Aug. 7, in the Missouri Veterans Cemetery under the direction of Evans Funeral Home.
