Cecil Robert Case, 72, passed away Saturday, June 8, 2013, at Apple Valley Nursing Home in Sebastopol, Calif.

He was born Feb. 8, 1941, in Summersville, son of Roy and Doris Bowman Case. He married Beverly Lammerding.

He grew up in the Summersville area and graduated from Houston High School in 1958, where his mother, Doris, was teaching at the time. He attended Washington University on a full scholarship as an organ and sacred music major.

Music was an integral part of his life as he served as minister of music for several churches, including Third Baptist Church in St. Louis, Faith Baptist Church of Summersville and Church of the Open Door in San Rafael, Calif.

He enjoyed learning about and working with computers and started his own computer printer ribbon company.

He was a born again Christian who believed in the saving, changing power of Jesus Christ.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Survivors include two daughters, Kitty Cano of Kaneohe, Hawaii, and Erika Case of Willard; his ex-wife, Beverly Case of Willard; a brother, John Case of Livermore, Calif.; a grandson; and many other family members.

Memorial services are 1 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 16, at Faith Baptist Church near Summersville with the Rev. Mike Pitts officiating. He was intered in Summersville City Cemetery.
