HHS volleyball

The Houston volleyball team squared off against several bigger schools Sept. 27 at the Rolla Tournament.

The Lady Tigers finished second in pool play with a pair of splits. Houston tied Mexico 25-19, 22-25 and Osage 26-27, 25-12. They lost their final match in pool play to Rolla 25-22, 25-14.

In tournament play, HHS lost to rival Licking for the third time this season. The Lady Wildcats won 25-17, 25-22.

Nora Dixon had seven kills to lead HHS. Sarah Kelley added six and Katelyn Martinez had five.

Junior Camryn Scheets handed out 18 assists.

Last Tuesday, Martinez had a team-best five kills in a 25-8, 25-18 loss to West Plains. Scheets had 12 assists and two aces.

JUNIOR VARSITY: The JV Lady Tigers won their first set of the season last Tuesday against West Plains in a 25-14, 25-23, 25-14 loss.

Krista Scott led Houston with six kills and Brooke McCown had five. McCown and Chandra Hubbs had two aces apiece.

On Sept. 27, the JV Lady Tigers lost five matches at the Waynesville JV Tournament.
