Jim Ragland Dec. 24, 1938 – October 20, 2014.

He had a wonderful life, born to John J. Ragland and Sophia Littlefield Ragland in Newport, Rhode Island. The Ferrymad set a record crossing the Narragansett Bay with the expectant parents as the Newport Bridge was not yet built.

Jim enjoyed an ideal childhood on his believed Jamestown Island. He spoke of seeing deer swimming across the bay, he himself an avid swimmer, would cross the bay between Jamestown and Newport.

Jim entered the Navy at 17 and proudly served his country spending time on a U.S. Naval Aircraft Carrier and time in Japan.

In October 1960, Jim married Jean Marie Broadhust. To this union two children were born, James W. Ragland and Annette Marie Ragland.

He worked for the Bostich as a pressman and a foreman for 25 years.

Jim married Mary Jane Stubbs in May 1980 and to this union one son, Lucas B. Ragland, was born.

He moved to the Missouri Ozarks in 1981. He enjoyed the outdoors in Missouri. In Missouri he had several occupations, including operating a combine, owning and running the Tyrone General Store and also established a successful pet brokerage.

He is survived by family and friends, including three children and two grandchildren.

Services were private.
