Houston’s Ward III alderman will seek re-election in the April election.
David Arthur filed for the slot. Previous filings were: Mayor, incumbent Don Tottingham and Kenton Rhea Yarnall; Ward I, incumbent Mary Barnes; and Ward II, Charles “Chalky” Wells.
Dustin Smith filed for the Houston board of education last week. The incumbents are Tadd McCloud and Jim Root.
The deadline to file is 5 p.m. Jan. 20.
