Diana Lorene (Baker) Howerton was born Nov. 10, 1956, at the Phelps County Regional Medical Center, Rolla, Mo., to Darel and Melba Baker. She passed away Monday, Jan. 19, 2015, at Rolla Rehab Nursing Center, Rolla, Mo.

Diana was saved and baptized at Bible School at Raymondville Baptist Church and has been a faithful member of Anutt Community Church until her sudden illness.

Diana is survived by her husband, Chris; and children, Sara Miller, Nick Howerton and Clay Howerton; grandchildren, Lewis Miller II and Justin Lane Miller; mother, Melba Baker of Rolla, Mo.; brother Steven Baker of Rolla, Mo; aunts, Jean Adams of St. Charles, Mo., Carolyn Terrill of Summersville, Mo., Jimmalee Major of Pekin, Ill., and Mary Belsass of Ellensburg, Wash.; many cousins, friends and church family; and one special little friend at church, Anna Howard.

Diana attended Elementary School at Potosi, Mo., where she was active in school athletics and was a majorette in the school marching band. She was very active in 4-H and in 7th grade, she took first prize for a suit she made. Moving back to Houston, she finished 8th grade, then graduated high school in 1975.

May 24, 1975, Diana married Chris Howerton at Raymondville Methodist Church. The Howertons established C&D Printing on Grand Avenue in Houston and continued to operate there until the late 80s. Moving to Rolla in 2001, Chris and sons graduated from the Rolla Technical School. The family later became active in the Anutt Community Church, where Diana organized the Food Pantry. She and Chris enjoyed several years of making Anutt Pioneer Days bigger and better each year.

Funeral Service for Diana Howerton are 10 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 22, 2015, at the Rolla Chapel of the James & Gahr Mortuary with Pastor Chad Wisdom officiating. Internment will be in the Allen Cemetery, Raymondville, Mo.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorials be made to the Anutt Pavilion Fund. Cards are available at all James & Gahr locations.
