The following are excerpts from reports generated by the Houston Police Department:
•Thomas A. Durst, 26, of 7600 Highway M in Huggins, was issued a citation Feb. 2 for illegally parking in a handicapped space in the Walmart parking lot.
•Two officers responded at about 2 p.m. Jan. 27 regarding a report of a dog attacking people.
Upon arrival, the officers made contact with a 31-year-old man who owns the dog – a pit bull – who stated it had attacked him and a 32-year-old neighbor woman. The man also said the dog was foaming at the mouth at the time of the attacks, but he had been able to chain it in the back yard.
The man requested that an officer destroy the dog. An officer went to where it was chained up and reported it displayed extremely aggressive behavior toward him. The officer then used his duty weapon to put it down.
The dog’s carcass was taken to a veterinarian for rabies testing, and it tested negative.
•Tina M. Dow, 46, of 16464 Forrest Drive in Houston, was issued citations for driving while intoxicated (prior offender) and driving while revoked after a traffic stop on Thomasville Road at about 10:30 p.m. Jan. 29.
An officer made the stop after observing a red Chevrolet Cavalier traveling without taillights.
The officer made contact with the driver, smelled alcohol, and field sobriety tests were conducted. Dow was taken to the Texas County Jail.
•Bret A. Smith, 20, of 112 Spruce St., No. 8, in Houston, was arrested at about 12:05 a.m. Jan. 31 for having two active warrants.
An officer made the arrest after making a traffic stop and observing that Smith was a passenger in the vehicle. A computer check revealed he had a City of Houston warrant for stealing under $500 and a Texas County warrant for second-degree property damage.
Smith was taken to the Texas County Jail and incarcerated. The city warrant had a $219 bond and the county warrant had no bond.
•Jazzmyn O. Edwards, 19, of 120 Old Salem Road in Licking, was issued a citation for minor in possession of alcohol by consumption after a traffic stop on U.S. 63 at about 1:40 a.m. Jan. 31. An officer made the stop after observing a maroon Ford Explorer moving erratically.
