Texas County Sheriff James Sigman said Monday speculation circulating that murder suspect Joseph Aldridge was carrying a list of names – or “hit list” – during his Feb. 26 shootings in Tyrone is unfounded.
“There was no such thing,” Sigman said.
Authorities said Aldridge killed seven people and wounded another inside four separate residences before committing suicide. He was discovered about 15 miles away from the shootings inside his running truck.
Sgt. Jeff Kinder of the Missouri State Highway Patrol said Aldridge was discovered with “quite a bit of ammunition.” Speculation that he was wearing a bulletproof vest was unfounded, but Kinder said he was wearing a “load-bearing vest.”
