A Mountain Grove man is held on $500,000 bond in the Texas County Jail after his arrest on multiple felony charges related to an incident at his home.

A Texas County Sheriff’s Department deputy stated in a probable cause statement that he was dispatched at about 4:30 p.m. April 4 regarding a report of a domestic dispute at a Highway AM residence.

The officer reported making contact with a woman there who said the man had grabbed her neck and held her to the ground, and told her to beg for her life or he would hold her head under water.

Another deputy who had responded to the scene reportedly smelled marijuana, and consent to search the house was asked for and received. A white baggie and a glass smoking device were found that both tested positive for methamphetamine, along with several other items of drug paraphernalia and a small amount of marijuana, authorities said.

As a result of the investigation, Texas County Prosecuting Attorney Parke Stevens Jr. on April 6 filed felony charges of second-degree domestic assault and possession of meth, and misdemeanor charges of marijuana and paraphernalia possession against Brian J. Campbell, 39, of 10594 Highway AM in Mountain Grove.
