Dwaine accepted Christ as his Savior at a very young age at a church in Elk Creek, Mo., and remained faithful throughout his life at churches in Solo, Houston and Rolla, Mo. He served as Sunday School superintendent, deacon and was always a faithful member. Dwaine was a farmer for the majority of his life, but he also worked off the farm as a carpenter and equipment operator at H.D. Lee Company.
Dwaine graduated from Houston High School in 1949 and was the starting basketball center throughout high school with his team, winning the SCA conference championship in 1948. Dwaine enjoyed hard work and found very few idle hours in a day. He stressed hard work and education to all three of his sons and insisted that they attend the University of Missouri. He was very proud of the fact that they all graduated from the university.
Dwaine led a good life and enjoyed it to the fullest with his wife, Thelma, of 61 years, always beside him. He enjoyed his cattle, gardening, and most importantly his grandchildren who spent many summers with Grandpa and Grandma Brown. We take solace in knowing they are together again.
