Bucyrus resident Cpt. Terina Knarr is currently attached to the 1/95th Engineer Battalion, 102nd Infantry Division at Fort Leonard Wood. In June, Knarr completed the Captains Career Course (CCC) at Fort Sam Houston, Texas, which is designed to instruct students on the basics of being a mid-grade Army Medical Department (AMEDD) officer.
The course provided Knarr with an advanced understanding of the U.S. Army, its various missions and how to contribute to the missions’ success. She was assigned to Alpha Company, 187th Medical Battalion for the duration of her CCC training.
The course is conducted by two organizations: Alpha Company, 187th Medical Battalion, 32d Medical Brigade and the AMEDD Captains Career Course Branch, Leader Training Center, Academy of Health Sciences at Fort Sam Houston, Texas. Knarr’s focus here at the AMEDD Center and School was discipline, teamwork, midgrade officer skills, tactical medical doctrine and learning the principles behind becoming an effective and agile leader. This will enable her to lead company or equivalent-sized organizations and serve successfully in Army staff positions.
Graduates are prepared for subsequent assignments including the supporting knowledge and skills necessary to support joint operations across the full spectrum of military operations. It helps any potential civilian operations as well.
