A Cabool man entered a guilty plea Tuesday to discharging grease into the Big Piney River. 

The following are excerpts of reports generated by the Texas County Sheriff’s Department:

•A deputy responded to a 911 call regarding a suicide attempt at about 8 p.m. Aug. 30 at a Bee Rock Road residence at Raymondville. The deputy reported that a woman was taken to Texas County Memorial Hospital for treatment.

She reportedly gave several different stories to an ambulance crew and the deputy before it was determined she had been drinking Crown Royal and had not taken any prescription medications.

•A 48-year-old Houston man came to the TCSD office at Aug. 24 to report that several items with a total value of $1,175 had been stolen from a property he owns on Boone Creek Road at Licking.

The man said swiped goods included Ford truck tires and rims, a mower and three trash cans. There are no suspects.

•A 54-year-old Raymondville man reported Aug. 28 that a crowbar valued at $10 was missing from his Splitlimb Road residence, and he believed it had been stolen.

•A 60-year-old West Plains man reported Aug. 14 that a Chevrolet Lumina valued at $2,500 had been stolen.

The man told an investigating officer the car had broken down at Highway Y and Arroll Road and he had left it there and arranged to have it towed to Mountain View.

He stated he was contacted by a representative of the towing company who said the car was not found in the area where it was supposed to be. There are no suspects.

•A 43-year-old woman came to the TCSD office Aug 24 to report that a Taurus 9mm pistol valued at $400 had been stolen. The woman told an investigating officer she didn’t know when the gun had been swiped or where it was taken from. There are no suspects.

•A 61-year-old Licking man told an officer he believes a barn at his Iron Mine Road property that burned down during the last big storm was the result of arson.

The man stated fire department officials had told him the barn had been struck by lightning, but he wanted an investigation done.

He was advised to hire a fire marshal. He said if he discovered any pertinent information, he would contact the TCSD again.

•A deputy was dispatched Aug. 21 regarding a report of a burglary at a Clayton Drive residence at Raymondville. A 58-year-old man who lives there told the officer a window air conditioning unit and a small box of tools with a total value of $140 had been stolen.

There are no suspects.

•A deputy was dispatched at about 8:45 a.m. Aug. 24 to check the well-being of a man at a Wilson Drive residence at Mountain Grove. The man told the officer he was fine but was having trouble with his telephone.

•A deputy was dispatched at about 2:15 p.m. Aug. 24 regarding a report of dogs at large at the Raymondville School. The dogs’ owner was located, and they were contained.

•Deputies responded Aug. 28 after Texas 911 called to report a man was in the emergency room at Texas County Memorial Hospital due to a dog bite at a Colburn Road residence at Cabool.

A deputy went to the hospital and met with the victim, who stated he had gone to a friend’s house to visit and a dog came up to him and attacked him. He stated he got the dog off of him and got back into his pickup, but the dog jumped through the window and continued the attack.

The man stated he grabbed a paring knife to stab the dog, but it jumped out the window. Photographs were taken of the man’s injuries.

The man who owns the dog told a deputy who had gone to the scene of the incident that it had had its rabies shots. He was advised to keep it separated from other animals for at least eight days, and he said he would.

•A woman reported hearing gunfire at a neighbor’s house adjacent to her Salem Road residence at Licking at about 10:20 p.m. Aug. 29. An investigating officer made contact with a neighbor man who said he was home alone and had not been shooting a gun.

•At about 8:20 a.m. Aug. 31, a woman reported loggers trespassing on her Highway 137 property at Raymondville. An investigating officer was unable to locate loggers in the area.

•A deputy was dispatched Aug. 24 regarding a report of property damage at a Kimble Road residence at Licking.

A 54-year-old man who lives there told the officer someone had vandalized his John Deere 6125 tractor. He stated the fuel tank was empty and its cap was missing, the hydraulic fuel tank was full of water and its cap was missing, and some wires had been cut.

There are no suspects.

•A Houston man called Aug. 27 to report that his mail had been going to someone else’s address instead of his Lilly Road address. An officer contacted the post office.

•A 41-year-old Plato man reported Aug. 19 that a black lockbox containing $5,895 cash and some old coins had been stolen from his Highway AW residence. The man named another man as a suspect. Investigation of the case continues.
