The annual Houston High School football scrimmage and pig roast will be held Saturday night by a new organization.
The Houston Varsity Club – which began as former HHS players rallied to replace the defunct Quarterback Club – said this year’s event will be held on the football field. Food will be served from 5-7 p.m. with the scrimmage to follow. Cost is $7 for a meal consisting of a pulled pork sandwich, baked beans, chips, dessert and soda or water.
Proceeds from the event will be used to purchase travel bags for the team.
