The Community Betterment and Arts Council of Houston will host its annual “Art in the Park” exhibition from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Emmett Kelly Park’s lower pavilion.
The activity is free to the public. Some participants may have artwork, crafts or books for sale.
Participants expected to participate:
•John Beltz, Missouri Cattlemen’s Association author of poetry from Willow Springs.
•D & L Florist will feature the creative talents of Shari McCallister, who will host a hands-on make-it-and-take-it fall swag for a $20 fee.
•Robin Van Horn, PLANKART
•Azurdee Hayes, local high school painting and drawing artist, who has won state and local accolades. One of her pictures was showcased at the state capitol last spring.
•Susanne Gladden, painter and pencil drawing artist will be demonstrating her skills.
•Wanda Nava, photographer and multi-media artist. Retired kindergarten-college art teacher who is the wife of the interim pastor of Peace Chapel Assembly of God Church.
•Jean Nava, Ozarks author which has written three allegorical books on Christian life set in medieval times.
•Sterling and Stone Jackson, featuring watercolor and paintings exhibited by the Houston R-1 art program on the web-based Artsonia.
•Amber Lee, painting
•Howard Hughes, author of “Through the Eyes of Millard Jefferson” and owner of Pond Trail Farm Guesthouse.
•Terri Terry, miniature and art quilts.
•Memma Buckner, photography.
•Chellsi Garrett, drawings.
•Kathy Goodrich, contemporary modern drawing.
•Harold Mitchell of “Out on a Limb Wood Working.”
•Robert Shenk, color prints, gray prints and note cards.
•Alice Wells, charcoal, print.
•John Wildhaber, wood working.
•Author Larry Dablemont will have magazines to give away and sign his eight available books. Two of those relate to his days at Houston High School.
