You’ll soon be able to pay financial transactions with Houston city government with a credit card.
Whether utilities, a municipal court fine or recreation fees, plastic will be accepted with a small convenience charge added.
The policy, approved by the Houston City Council, will allow any city payments be made with plastic.
City Clerk Tonya Foster said her staff will be working with a current software vendor to make the changes this month. Customers will likely use the new service beginning next month.Â
