Plato resident Gus Adams and his wife Betty enjoyed a trip to Greece and Turkey in mid-October.
While in Turkey at a government-run rug making facility in the small coastal town of Kudasai on Oct. 15, they experienced the incredible coincidence of running into Betty’s good friend Lola Massey and her sister Connie Lubina, both of Lynchburg.
“We were looking around and I hear someone yell, ‘Betty!,’” Betty said.
Adding to the odds against the meeting were the facts that the Adams’ had flown from the U.S. to Athens, Greece, and then boarded a cruise ship that stopped at seven ports, while the sisters had flown into Istanbul, Turkey, and spent time exclusively touring that country.
