A Texas County Sheriff’s Department investigation has resulted in a pair of felony sex charges against a Cabool man.
Jacob T. Sigman, 23, of 2645 Highway HH at Cabool, is charged with second-degree statutory rape and first-degree sodomy or attempted sodomy after allegedly having sexual relations with a then 14-year-old girl.
The investigation began when a man contacted county authorities to report he had found his daughter’s bed empty and bedroom window open at about 6:30 a.m. last Thursday (Dec. 3). After following up on information received that morning, a Cabool police officer located Sigman and the girl in a car in the old Romines Motor Co. lot on Ozark Avenue in Cabool.
A TCSD officer also responded and took Sigman to the Cabool police station for questioning, where he confessed to multiple encounters with the girl.
Sigman is held in the Texas County Jail on $350,000 bond.
