Emergency personnel responded Sunday at about 10:35 a.m. to an accident east of Houston.

A Raymondville man received moderate injuries Sunday morning in a crash east of Houston.

Sgt. Dale Pounds of the Missouri State Highway Patrol said a westbound 2005 Buick LaCross driven by Roy R. King, 66, of Raymondville, crossed into the eastbound lane and caused a 2000 Saturn LS2 driven by John T. Goins, 40, to go off the right side of the roadway and strike an electrical pole.

Pounds said Goins, who wasn’t wearing a seat belt, was taken with moderate injuries to Texas County Memorial Hospital. King, who was wearing a seat belt, was not hurt.

Members of the Houston Rural Fire Department Rescue Squad were called to the scene, which was about five miles east of Houston on Highway B.
