A Memphis man was cited with two offenses on Friday, Dec. 21, in Texas County.

A drunk Success man was seriously injured early Friday in a crash just west of Houston, the Missouri State Highway Patrol said.

Sgt. George Falterman said a northbound 2001 Chevrolet pickup driven by Christopher L. Mooney, 23, failed to negotiate a curve, left the roadway and overturned at about 1 a.m.

Mooney, who wasn’t wearing a seat belt, was taken to Texas County Memorial Hospital and later flown by medical helicopter to Mercy Hospital in Springfield.

Falterman said the vehicle was totaled.

Mooney is charged with DWI, failure to drive on right half of roadway and wearing no seat belt.
