The deadline to file is 5 p.m. Tuesday, March 29.

Filings closed Tuesday for offices that will be filled during the April municipal elections.

Here is the lineup:

•Houston City Council, three, two-year terms. Filing were incumbents Joe Honeycutt, Ward I; Sheila Walker, Ward II; and incumbent Don Romines and challenger Victoria Castleman Narancich, Ward III.

•Omanez Fockler will run unopposed for the TCMH board of trustees, a five-year term.

•Texas County Emergency Services board will hold its first election after appointments to terms were made earlier by the Texas County Commission. There are four, four-year slots on the ballot. Filing for positions were incumbents Scott Lindsey, Jim McNiell and Kent Sturgeon. Wes Campbell also filed. Bennie Cook did not re-file.

•Aaron Scantlin filed for re-election to a three-year term on the Raymondville board of education. The other incumbent, Cody Neugebauer, did not file.

•Candidates for two three-year seats on the Houston school board are Curtis Hubbs, Jennifer Scheets, Darren Ice, Delmar Hicks, Roger Brallier and Carl “Chip” Lange. Hubbs and Scheets are incumbents. 

•Seeking two, three-year terms on the Plato board of education are incumbent Darrell Thomas and candidates Cathy Hillhouse, Cody McNiel, Eric Crewse, Michael Hunter and Catrina Todd. Dewayne Baker did not seek re-election.

•Incumbent Melissa Benson filed for a three-year term at Success School. Alva McCown is seeking a two-year spot. Another three-year position was available, but no one filed. Incumbents Amanda Gale (two-year term) and Carl Shelton (three-year term) did not seek re-election.

The school board filings will be updated when districts reopen. Schools were closed in the county on Wednesday due to inclement weather.
