Services: 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 13, at Evans Funeral Home

Kelsie Salyer Jr, 84, passed away Feb. 8, 2016, at his home in Houston.

He was born Sept. 17, 1931, in Ellis Prairie.

He worked timber Colorado and Wyoming until he went to Black Thunder Coal Mine in Wright, Wyo. He retired from the mines and returned to Missouri.

Known by many as “Junior,” he worked on engines after moving to Missouri. He was always available to look at your car, truck or engine and spent many hours helping friends and family.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Bill Salyer.

Survivors include his wife of 52 years, Delores M. Salyer; a son, David Salyer; three grandsons; and two sisters, Mae Pittman and Irene Burris.

Services were Saturday, Feb. 13, at Evans Funeral Home. Burial was in Ellis Prairie Cemetery.
