Loretha Ruth (Bailey) Hubbs, 91, wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt and friend, passed away from this life peacefully on Feb. 28, 2016. Loretha was the daughter of James and Lavina (Brown) Bailey. She was born into a large family at Eunice, Mo., on May 6, 1924.
She married Robert D. Hubbs on Jan. 11, 1946, in St. Louis, Mo. They were married for 52 years and had two children.
Loretha was a lifelong Christian. She loved her family and she loved the Lord.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; several brothers and sisters; and her granddaughter, Vikki Harty.
Surviving are two sons, Duane (Martha) Hubbs of Wisconsin and Randy (Diana) Hubbs of Virginia Beach, Va.; one sister, Reva Lanning of St. Louis, Mo.; one brother, Walter Bailey of Lebanon, Mo.; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Visitation was 1-2 p.m. Wednesday March 2, 2016, at Evans Funeral Home with services beginning at 2 p.m. in the chapel with Pastor David Barbee officiating. Burial was in Union Chapel Cemetery, Eunice, Mo., where so many of her family and friends are buried, under the direction of Evans Funeral Home.
