The Houston Tigers’ large senior class played for the final time last week inside Hiett Gymnasium.
Last Tuesday’s 78-51 loss to Salem was the home finale for seniors Kobe Sutton, Nathan Poynter, Skylur Malam, Dylan Coulter, Keegan Spurlin, Caleb Adkison and Austin Schock. The players –– and senior members of the HHS pep band –– were recognized after the game.
Poynter hit a pair of 3-pointers and scored 20 points to lead HHS. Lucas Kelley added seven points.
The Tigers (5-16, 0-5 South Central Association) trailed 21-9 after the opening quarter.
On Friday, Sutton scored 15 points in an 80-36 defeat at Mountain Grove. Malam added seven points.
Houston traveled to Thayer on Tuesday and faces Liberty on the road Friday to conclude the regular season. The Tigers face Mountain Grove at 6 p.m. Monday in the district opener.
