Stephen “Steve” Alvin Mitchell, 87, passed away Monday, Feb. 1, 2016, at Licking Park Manor.

He was born Nov. 5, 1928, near Licking, son of Robert Davis and Naomi Adele Swiggert Mitchell.

He worked in St. Louis and California before returning to the Licking and Roby areas. He worked until his health forced him to enter a nursing home.

While in the nursing home, he enjoyed going to Roby to visit with his many friends. He also liked to spend time with his relatives in the Licking area and never missed the annual family reunion.

He was preceded in death by his parents; three sisters, Mary Virginia Noel, Elsie Kathleen Hendon and Wilda Gayle Peth; and four brothers, Eli Burke Mitchell, Garner Kingston Mitchell, Robert Lee Mitchell and James Wilson Mitchell.

Services were Friday, Feb. 5, at Fox Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Kenny Lewis officiating. Burial was in Boone Creek Cemetery.
