Texas County deputies are investigating several crimes in the county.

The following are excerpts of reports generated by the Texas County Sheriff’s Department:

•Deputies traveled Feb. 13 to a residence on Reed Road at Licking to serve warrants on two men.

Three men at the home were found to have active warrants, and one was found to be in possession of a large amount of methamphetamine and illegally in possession of a gun.

Arrested on warrants for possession of controlled substances were Christopher C. Hanks, 42, and Casey J. Martin, 24, both of 11350 Reed Road at Licking, and Justin P. Christopher, 22, of 270 Cherry Drive in Summersville.

During an investigation officers found five baggies containing a white substance believed to be meth, a .22 caliber pistol with multiple rounds inside it, and several other rounds of ammunition. The drugs, the gun and ammo, and a digital scale were all seized as evidence.

A probable cause statement was sent to the county prosecutor seeking charges against Hanks – a convicted felon – of unlawful possession of a firearm and distribution, delivery or manufacturing a controlled substance.

Christopher was found to be in possession of marijuana and was also issued a citation. All three men were taken to the Texas County Jail.

•Deputies responded Feb. 13 after receiving information about a stolen vehicle being parked at an unoccupied residence on Dorman Drive at Licking.

Officers located the white Pontiac Grand Am at the empty house, and observed that was missing two rear wheels and had extensive damage on its front. The car was towed to an impound lot in Houston, and Houston police contacted the 32-year-old man who owns it.

There are no suspects.

•A 911 report was received at about 10 a.m. Feb. 12 regarding a small child repeatedly dialing 911 and talking to a dispatcher.

An investigating officer went to the residence on Heritage Lane in Evening Shade where the calls had originated, and determined the child’s parents were aware of the calls being made and that the kid was playing with the mother’s phone.

•A deputy responded on Feb. 10 to a report of a 50-year-old man calling 911 from his Mount Olive Road residence at Mountain View and threatening to harm sheriff’s department officers and a Texas County associate circuit judge.

On the way to the suspect’s home, the deputy was advised the man had told a 911 dispatcher that he was armed with an AR15 and would kill anyone who came to his residence. He reported called again and stated he wanted one officer who would be nice to him to come to his house.

He reportedly called one more time and again stated that any officer who came to his home would be in danger.

Three deputies ended up arriving at the man’s house, and he was uncooperative with their commands. He was eventually handcuffed and taken to the Texas County Jail. A probable cause statement was sent to the county prosecutor seeking felony charges against the man of making a terrorist threat and aggravated stalking.

•Deputies were dispatched Feb. 10 to a Carter Lane residence at Tyrone regarding a report of theft.

A man who lives there told officers a game camera hung on his property had been swiped. He also stated he found a Smith and Wesson .44 Magnum revolver on the ground next to where the camera had been, and that he had no idea where the gun came from.

A computer check was run on the gun, but nothing was found. There are no suspects.

•A 51-year-old Yukon man reported on Feb. 10 that several items with a total value of $1,000 had been stolen from his Highway Y residence.

The man told an investigating officer that swiped goods included a generator, a laptop computer, a Stihl chainsaw and headphones. There are no suspects.

•A man called at about 11 a.m. Feb. 10 to report a suspicious white truck on his Pipe Line Road property. The man told an investigating officer that the truck turned out to be a Forest Service vehicle.

•A deputy responded just before midnight Feb. 9 to a report of a trespasser at a Country Aire Lane trailer park at Cabool.

Upon arrival, the officer located a man in a ditch who stated he was homeless and heading for Springfield. The officer gave him a ride to the county line.

•A deputy responded at about 7:50 p.m. Feb. 8 after a man reported that another man was on his Highway N property and yelling. When the officer arrived, the yelling man was gone and the other man declined to prosecute.

•A man called 911 on Feb. 9 to report another man had been spying on him inside his Higgins Road residence at Licking. An investigating officer determined the alleged victim’s claim was unfounded.
