Missouri Lt. Gov. Peter Kinder is seeking nominations for the Lieutenant Governor’s Senior Service Award, given each year to seniors who volunteer in their communities.
Winners are selected from across the state, and will be recognized at a banquet in Jefferson City. Kinder created the award to promote and highlight service Missouri’s senior citizens provide their communities.

“As the official senior advocate for the state of Missouri, these awards give me an opportunity to publicize positive stories about seniors,” Kinder said. “The Senior Service Award is a way our state can shine the spotlight on seniors who inspire their friends and neighbors with their willingness to serve others.”
Nomination forms are available at the Lieutenant Governor’s website: http://ltgov.mo.gov under the “Senior Service Awards” tab, or can be obtained through the lieutenant governor’s office by calling 573-751-4727. Nominees should be at least 60 years old and volunteer a minimum of 25 hours per year. The deadline for nominations is March 15.
“Thousands of Missourians’ lives are touched by the unselfish work and caring hands of volunteering seniors,” Kinder said. “These seniors offer their time and labor back to the community. Please help me highlight their good deeds by nominating a senior volunteer today.”
