Memorial services: 2 p.m., Saturday, March 5, at the Kingdom Hall in Licking

Richard Matthew Mielke, 83, of Raymondville, Mo., passed away on Feb. 29, 2016, at his home surrounded by family. He was born Aug. 14, 1932, on the family farm in Paulding County, Ohio, the son of Edward and Vanda Mielke. On Aug. 12, 2010, he married his best friend, Wilma Mielke.

As one of Richard’s grandchildren wrote, “He taught me how to drive a tractor and deliver puppies, how to overcome my fears and how important responsibilities are. I will never forget your endless stories or your loud heartfelt laugh.” This describes the man we knew. Richard was a truck driver for Ree’s Trucking for many years. He could often be found at his favorite place, McDonalds, telling stories of his travels, love for tractors and trucking.

Richard was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Paul; and one sister, Shirley.

He is survived by his wife, Wilma Mielke of the home; four children, Wesley Mielke and wife, Janice, Shelly Householder, Debbie Kamp and Dan Mielke and wife, Dawn; a stepdaughter, Deana Scott; nine grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; four great-great grandchildren; and a sister, Karen Springer of Camden, Tenn.

Memorial services are 2 p.m., Saturday, March 5, 2016, at the Kingdom Hall in Licking, Mo., with Lonnie and Matt Roper officiating. Inurnment will be at a later date in the Tyrone Freewill Baptist Cemetery. Arrangements were under the direction of Elliott-Gentry-Carder Funeral Home of Cabool, Mo.
