Texas County deputies are investigating several crimes in the county.

The following are excerpts of reports generated by the Texas County Sheriff’s Department:

•A deputy was dispatched to a Yukon woman’s Highway 137 house after she called 911 at about 6:50 a.m. March 21 to report that her 17-year-old daughter had run away during the night. The officer explained to the woman that since the girl was 17, state law dictates that nothing could be done.

•A deputy was dispatched at about 5:15 p.m. March 20 regarding a domestic dispute at a Kelly Road residence at Raymondville.

A 44-year-old man who lives there told the officer he had gotten into an argument with a 34-year-old woman and some of her relatives because some of his relatives were in town from Illinois and wanted him to go back to Illinois with them. The man stated he did wish to go with them. He did.

•A 35-year-old Bucyrus woman called March 7 to report that a 40-year-old Hartville man had swiped a GPS watch she had bought for her son.

An investigating officer made contact with the man, and he stated the matter was none of the officer’s business. A report of the case was sent to the county prosecutor.

•A Cabool man called at about 1 p.m. March 20 to report his 11-year-old daughter had run away from his Highway EE residence. An investigating officer found the girl in a burnt house about 600 yards away, and she was returned home safely.

•A 28-year-old Houston woman reported on March 19 that several items of electronics and some prescription pills with a total value of $448 had been stolen from her Ridge Road residence. There are no suspects.

•A deputy was dispatched at about 2 a.m. March 18 regarding a report of a domestic dispute at a Whispering Pines Drive at Licking.

A 20-year-old woman who lives there told the officer a 26-year-old man had punched her in the nose and choked her. She stated he ran out the back door when deputies arrived.

Later the same day, the woman came to the TCSD office and filled out a statement indicating she had lied, and the man never touched her.

•A deputy was dispatched at about 7:30 p.m. March 17 regarding a possible chemical smell at a Vernon Drive residence at Cabool. The officer stated the only noticeable smell was that of a dead animal.

•A 47-year-old Mountain Grove woman came to the TCSD office March 13 to report a 2013 Chevrolet pickup had been stolen from her parents Clear Springs road residence at Willow Springs.

The vehicle was located in Rogersville by an off-duty Missouri State Highway Patrol trooper who is a family friend. A probable cause statement was sent to the county prosecutor seeking vehicle theft charges against a 20-year-old Rogersville woman and a 21-year-old Springfield man.

•A deputy was dispatched Feb. 26 regarding a burglary at Pittman’s Store on Highway 17 in Success.

The officer observed surveillance video that showed a man driving a white pickup force entry into the store and swipe several items. After an investigation, the truck was also found to be stolen from a residence on Highway AH.

A probable cause statement was sent to the county prosecutor seeking five felony charges against a 32-year-old Licking man.

•A Houston woman called March 10 to report finding two jars of methamphetamine at her Highway 17 residence. An investigating officer observed a liquid substance in each jar. One was believed to be camping fuel and the other acetone.

•An officer traveling in his patrol car on Stone Ridge Road at Mountain Grove at about 3:15 March 20 was stopped by a man who stated a bull he owns had jumped a fence onto a neighbor’s property and the neighbor wouldn’t let him retrieve it.

The officer made contact with the neighbor man and talked to him about allowing the bull’s owner to retrieve the animal. He did.
