Dorsey Eugene Clark, son of the late Dorsie Lee and Ida Mae (Abbott) Clark, was born on July 7, 1940, in Cottonwood Point, Mo., and departed this life on April 4, 2016, in Springfield, Mo. He was 75 years, 8 months, and 28 days of age.
Dorsey graduated from Caruthersville High School and went on to serve in the United States Air Force for 6 years. He then earned his associate degree from Ozark’s Technical Community College in Springfield, Mo.
Dorsey worked in management for 30 years with the Brown Shoe Company. He later became a paramedic and worked with South Howell Ambulance Service for 10 years before retiring.
Dorsey was united in marriage to Brenda Walker on June 4, 1964, in Tyler, Mo. One daughter was born to this union.
Dorsey was a resident of Mountain Grove for 52 years. He had a great personality and was a very kindhearted and caring person. He was an enthusiastic fan of the St. Louis Cardinals. Dorsey was an avid hunter and fisherman. He was a devoted gardener and had some of the most beautiful roses around. Dorsey had a deep faith in God and His service and he loved playing Gospel music on the piano and keyboard.
He is survived by his loving wife of nearly 52 years, Brenda Clark of the home; his daughter, Rhonda Clark of St. Louis, Mo.; two sisters, Peggy Knipper and her husband, the Rev. Adrian, of Jackson, Tenn., and Phyllis Dean of Apopka, Fla.; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Dorsey will be greatly missed by all his family and friends.
Funeral Services for Dorsey Clark were 10 a.m. Saturday, April 9, 2016, at Craig-Hurtt Funeral Home in Mountain Grove, Mo., with the Rev. Jim Posey Officiating. Burial was in the Hillcrest Cemetery under the direction of Craig-Hurtt Funeral Home.
