Margaret Irene Adams, 90, of Fort Dodge, Kan., passed away Tuesday, March 22, 2016.
She was born Aug. 29, 1925, in Houston, daughter of Irvin and Mae Strickland Capps. She and Orville Adams were married Sept. 18, 1943, in Houston.
She lived in Webster City, Iowa, while her husband, Orville, served with the military in the Philippines. They later moved to Jewell, Iowa, before making their home in Fort Dodge, Kan., in 1952.
She worked for Sperry Cleaners and later worked for Globe Union.
She was a former member of Price of Peace Lutheran Church and most recently a member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church.
She was part of the VFW Auxillary, Red Hat Ladies, Moose Lodge and the Elks Club.
She enjoyed golfing, playing cards and spending time with friends and family.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Orville.
Survivors include her sons, James Adams of St. Joseph and Mike Adams of Fort Dodge, Kan.; four grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and four siblings, Martha Carter and Jessie Townley of Houston, Mildred White of Taneyville and Susan Mateer of St. Paul, Kan.
Services were Saturday, March 26, at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church with Pastor Nicholas Thackery officiating. Burial was in North Lawn Cemetery.
