James Warren Arnold, 76, passed away Friday, May 27, 2016, at Ozark Medical Center in West Plains.

He was born Aug. 16, 1939, in Truman, Ark., of Horace Dale and Mildred Virginia Weaks Arnold.

Due to an illness in recent years, he attended church in spirit with Pastor Arnold Murray and Shepherd’s Chapel on television each day.

He loved to fish and when he was in good health and passed that love onto his eight children and grandchildren.

He enjoyed communicating via CB. His handle was “coon dog.”

He loved the last several years at Summersville Senior Housing, where he made many friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Robert Dale; a sister, Kathy Moree; and an infant grandson.

Survivors include eight children, James Dale Arnold, Warren Wayne Arnold, Anna Corrine Berryhill, Johnny Douglas Arnold, Danny Lee Arnold, Mary Sue Carthcart and Virginia Irene Dentom of the Tupelo, Miss., area, and Timothy Aaron Arnold of Las Vegas, Nev.; 28 grandchildren; a host of great-grandchildren; seven siblings; and other family members.

Services were Tuesday, May 31, at Bradford Funeral Home with the Rev. James Bradford. Burial was in Greenlawn Cemetery in Mountain View.
