Juanita Hart, 91, daughter of Ransom Wyatt and Goldie (Todd) Fourt, was born Sept. 17, 1924, in Houston, MO. She passed away May 13, 2016, at Mercy Hospital, Springfield, Mo.
She is preceded in death by her parents and her siblings, Mamie Swan, Velma Fourt, Alice Crawford and Bill Fourt.
Juanita grew up in Houston and graduated from Houston High School in 1942. She attended Draughns Business College.
She married Doug Hart on July 6, 1946, in Columbus, Kan.
Juanita worked as a secretary for Morrison Knudson Construction Company in Tennessee, Nebraska and Idaho. She also worked as a receptionist at the Houston Herald for many years.
Juanita is survived by her husband, Doug Hart; daughters, Ann Martin and husband, Roger, of Skidmore, Mo., and Dixie Edgar and husband, Earl, of Nixa, Mo.; four grandchildren, Leslie Nelson (Kerry), Bryan Martin (Caren), Brent Martin (Jenn) and Amy Kell (Josh); six great-grandchildren; and a sister, Mildred Melton of Houston, Mo.
After becoming a Christian at an early age, Juanita was a member of First Baptist Church, Houston, for over 70 years. She lovingly served as a leader in Sunbeams, Girls Auxiliary, VBS, Baptist Camp and WMU.
She loved her flowers, gardening and reading. Juanita was very caring and loving to all she met. She always put the welfare and happiness of others before her own.
Juanita was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
Services are 11 a.m. Tuesday May 17, 2016, at Houston First Baptist Church with Pastor Russ Stigall officiating. Burial was in Pine Lawn Cemetery under the direction of Evans Funeral Home. Pallbearers were Josh Kell, Mike Lybyer, Kenny Coats, Kerry Nelson, Bryan Martin and Brent Martin.
