Kyle Vernell (Buck) Martin, 82, of Chillicothe, Mo., passed away June 9, 2016. He was born Aug. 5, 1933, in St. Louis, Ill., to Kyle and Nellie (Miller) Martin.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his stepfather, Chet Thomas; a granddaughter, Angie McCown; and two sisters, Vera Maskopf and Electra Jacques.

Buck is survived by his wife of 41 years, Leslie of the home; one brother, Kenny Martin of Troy, Ill.; eight sons, Lloyd Martin and wife, Linda, of Warrensburg, Mo., Lewis Martin and wife, Ivonne, of Ionia, Mo., Leonard Martin and wife, Edwina, of Sedalia, Mo., Leland Martin and wife, Pam, of Republic, Mo., Lester Martin and wife, Carla, of Sedalia, Mo., Marvin Martin and wife, Annie, of Warrensburg, Mo., Jarrod Unruh and wife, Jeanett, of Silver Hill, Alab., and Kyle Martin Jr. and wife, Jen, of Sedalia, Mo.; eight daughters, Roberta Richards of Houston, Mo., Nellie Manues and husband, Johnny, of West Memphis, Ark., Martha Martin of LaMonte, Mo., Carmen Pizano of Independence, Mo., Ginger Soliz of Chillicothe, Mo., Glenda Unruh of Gulf Shores, Alab., Sherry Choate and husband, Bob, of Gulf Shores, Alab., and Misty Shady and husband, Layne, of Chillicothe, Mo.; and numerous grandkids, great-grandkids and several great-great grandkids.

Kyle was raised in the Success, Mo., area. He served in the United States Marines from 1953 and was honorably discharged July 30, 1956, as a sergeant.

He drove a truck for 63 years and did a lot of farm work. Buck lived in Dodge City, Kan., for 30 years and Hoisington, Kan., for 10 years. He worked many years for Harlan Stoss.

Buck was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather and brother and will be greatly missed by his family and friends.

Graveside services were 10 a.m. Monday, June 13, at Pine Lawn Cemetery with Pastor Danny Lovin officiating. He was escorted to the cemetery by the Patriot Guard. Military services were provided by the U.S. Marines and Licking VFW Post # 6337.
