Officers with the Houston Police Department will be out in full force as part of the annual nationwide Fourth of July holiday crackdown on impaired driving.
The operation will feature high-visibility enforcement throughout Houston and will run July 1-5. The event will be backed by national paid advertising designed to curb substance-impaired driving during the holiday period.
“We want to remind everyone that getting behind the wheel impaired is a terrible idea,” said HPD Chief Tim Ceplina. “If you have any doubt about your sobriety, don’t get behind the wheel. Just remember that we will be out in force and will be watching.
“If you choose to drive impaired, we will arrest you – no warnings and no excuses.”
