Wesley Nick Kallemyn, 84, passed away Thursday, June 9, 2016.

He was born Oct. 4, 1931, in Chandler, Minn., son of Klaas Nicholas and Ann Peters KaIlemeyn. He and Adeline Ida Meyer were married on June 20, 1957, in Volga, S.D.

He grew up on the family farm in Pipestone, Minn., with his two older brothers, Marion “Kelly” and George. He farmed there until he was drafted into the Army. He served during the Korean War.

After marriage, he continued to farm in Minnesota from 1957-’59. He then moved to southern California, where he owned and ran an 8,000 chicken and egg ranch. He also had many jobs in California, including working for an orange factory, brick factory and dairy. He also worked for General Electric in Ontario, Calif. He started as a janitor and worked his way up to lead inspector of jet engines. He worked there 15 years.

In 1975, he and his wife, Adeline, moved to Marshfield. He worked for New Holland in Springfield until 1987. He continued to work on balers up unto his death.

In October 1987, he and Adeline auctioned off their belongings and traveled the country. He loved the beach and spent many months in Florida and southern Texas. They settled at Plato in 1997.

He loved his Lord and Savior and enjoyed his church families and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Adeline; two brothers; and a grandson.

Survivors include a daughter, Leslie Kallemyn Teague; a grandson; and numerous other family members and friends.

Memorial services are 11 a.m. Saturday, June 18, at Fraker Funeral Home in Marshfield. Burial will be 11 a.m. Monday, June 20, in the Missouri Veterans Cemetery in Fort Leonard Wood.
