Gary W. “Bob” Griffith, 80, passed away Tuesday, July 12, 2016, at his home in Mountain View.
He was born May 1, 1936, in Summersville, son of Allie Mae Griffith. He and Vivian Derryberry Griffith were married July 18, 1969.
He was a member of Summersville Masonic Lodge #555 AF and AM for more than50 years. He was also a long time member of the Scottish Rite. He joined the First Baptist Church at a young age.
He was the manager of the Ferrell (Uregas) Gas Company in Summersville for many years.
He enjoyed hunting and fishing.
He was preceded in death by his mother and a son, Terry Griffith.
Survivors include his wife, Vivian; three sons, Mike, Rick and Gary; a daughter, Karen; a grandson; two granddaughters; great-grandchildren; four siblings, Mary Hartman, Betty Barton, Jim Griffith and Eddie Griffith; and many other family members.
Memorial services are 10 a.m. Saturday, July 23, at Red Bank at Norfork Lake. Cremation was under the care of Bradford Funeral Home.
