ED FLOWERS

Harry Edward Flowers, known to his family and friends as “Ed,” was the son of Harry Flowers Sr. and Amanda Lucille Brown Flowers. He was born Sept. 6, 1940, in Alton, Ill., and passed away at his home July 6, 2016, in Willow Springs. He was 75.

He attended Clear Springs Church as long as his health permitted. He served his county in the U.S. Army from 1958 to 1961 in Korea.

Mr. Flowers loved playing bingo and scratch off tickets. He was an avid Cardinals fan and watched Fox Sports Midwest and thought Fox News was the gospel. He was the family comedian and loved making everyone laugh.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his daughter, Catherine Flowers; a son, Harry Flowers III; two sisters, Joyce Pruitt and Judy Easter; and two nephews.

Mr. Flowers is survived by his children, Amanda Messex of Redding, Calif., Mindy Hosier of Willow Springs; a sister, Vicky Franklin of Yukon, a brother, Ricky Flowers of Gillespie, Ill.; nine grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. He is also survived by many other family members.

Funeral services were 2 p.m. Saturday, July 9, at Bradford Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. George Smith officiating. Military honors and interment was in Union Chapel Cemetery under the care of Bradford Funeral Home. Online condolences may be left at bradfuneralhome.net
