The University of Missouri Extension’s Family Nutrition Program has launched a social marketing campaign in July and August to promote healthy eating, physical activity and gardening.
The goal of “Live Like Your Life Depends On It” is to reduce the risk for chronic disease by encouraging healthy behaviors in adults. The message is being spread via billboards, posters, fliers and social media.
The “Seasonal and Simple” app (at seasonalandsimple.info) is an easy way for consumers to learn about healthy eating options and identify local sources for fresh fruits and vegetables. The Facebook page at www.facebook.com/LLYLDOI is another way to get timely nutritional and health advice.
The campaign is supported by MU Extension and the Missouri Council for Activity and Nutrition (MOCAN). Partners include the Missouri Department of Agriculture, the Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services and the Missouri Department of Social Services.
