The Houston High School volleyball team is searching for its first victory of the season after competing Saturday in the Branson Tournament.

The Lady Tigers were 0-4 in the annually tough tournament with losses to Springfield Central, Fort Zumwalt West, El Dorado Springs and Lamar.

“We showed some improvement,” HHS coach Loran Richardson said. “One of our setters, Chloe Hunninghake, went down with a sprained ankle during pool play, but the girls kept their composure and did a good job filling in different roles.”

Alyssa Hayes and Emily Shea each had eight kills in the tournament to lead Houston (0-6). Sevanna Rowland had a team-best three aces.

Alexis Choate led the Lady Tigers with 19 assists. Shea had a team-high 17 digs.
