Military veteran

Junior “Mark” Stark, 86, passed away Tuesday, July 26, 2016, at his home in Summersville.

He was born July 11, 1930, in Damascus, Ark., daughter of Gilbert Stark and Ruby Lee Herrin Stark. He married Billie Nash and after divorce, married Violet Irma Stark on May 2, 1986.

He served in the Korean War with the Army. After serving, he worked as an auto mechanic for many years.

He enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, playing dominoes, watching football and spending time with family.

He was preceded in death by a daughter, Shannon Lawson; five siblings, Bill, Artie, Forrest, Gene, Cecil and Norman; an infant brother; two infant sisters; and a granddaughter.

Survivors include his wife, Violet Irma of Summersville; three children: Charles A. Anderson of Hartshorn, Charlene Batstone of Salem and Evalena Hollibaugh of Houston; nine grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and a host of other family members and friends.

Services were Friday, July 29, at Bradford Funeral Home. Burial with military honors was in Antioch Cemetery.
