Tweed House project progressing
Workers hoist a board onto the roof of the Lynch-Tweed House last Thursday morning in western Houston. An ongoing effort to restore the Civil War era house (Houston's oldest structure) is being spearheaded by members of the Lynch-Tweed Civil War Home Preservation Society. Three layers of old shingles were removed before the boards for the upgrade began being installed over what remained. On the ground is Mark Weinberger. On the roof are, from left, Levi Bittle, Thomas Weber and Carl Hutsell.
