A burglary at Licking is tied to a daughter, whose mother said the crime was fueled by meth, authorities said.
A deputy responded at about 9:50 a.m. Sept. 23 to a report of a burglary at a Highway 32 residence at Licking.
A 53-year-old woman who lives there told the officer she caught the person who had broken in and it turned out to be her 23-year-old daughter. The woman said the suspect pried off a latch to an entry door and had piled up numerous items next to the door that she intended to steal.
The woman stated she has had other similar problems with her daughter because of her meth habit.
The suspect was later located and confessed to breaking in. She was taken to the Texas County Jail and a probable cause statement was sent to the county prosecutor seeking charges against her.
