Carolyn Marie Thomas Wilson, 76, passed away Friday, Sept. 16, 2016, in Springfield.

She was born Sept. 1, 1940, daughter of Edward and Evelyn Thomas.

She was diagnosed with a brain tumor at age 20. It was successfully removed.

She loved canning the vegetables that her husband, Dean, picked from the garden and making apple pies. She was always willing to play games, take walks and bake goodies with her granddaughter. She enjoyed playing dominoes with Vince and Jean Brown. She spent years of her life working at the state tree nursery counting trees.

She recently lived at Licking Park Manor and enjoyed spending time with the residents there.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Jewel Dean Wilson; a daughter, Evelyn Ewing; a brother, Darold Thomas; and a sister, Donna Moses.

Survivors include a daughter, Rebecca Harris; a granddaughter, Leah Harris; a brother, Gale Thomas; and many other family members and friends.

Graveside services were Sunday, Sept. 18, in Shafer Cemetery with Larry Harris officiating. Services were under the direction of Fox Funeral Home.
