Military veteran

Clifford Wayne Call passed away Saturday, Sept. 24, 2016, at Silverstone Place in Rolla.

He was born May 26, 1932, in Joplin, son of Horace F. and Ruth Walton Call.

He met his wife, Dorothy Evelyn Newhook, in Boston, Mass., while serving in the Navy. They were married April 7, 1956.

He lived and worked as a machinist in Rockford, Ill. He retired in
Licking in 1997.

He enjoyed gardening, reading and St. Louis Cardinals baseball. He
attended the Licking Pentecostal Holiness Church prior to entering the nursing home.

He was preceded in death by a daughter, Pamela; and brothers, Bill and 
George.

Survivors include his wife, Dorothy of Licking Park Manor; a daughter, Ruth Ann Pappas of Springfield; a grandson; a granddaughter; and a sister, Shirley Swinford of Portland, Oreg.

A private graveside service with full military honors was Tuesday, Sept. 27, in Willhite Cemetery under direction of Fox Funeral Home.
