ROBERTSON COMPLETES FOURTH DEGREE OF THE KNIGHTS OF COLUMBUS
Kyle Robertson of Houston completed the exemplification for the Fourth Degree of the Knights of Columbus at a ceremony in Jackson, Mo. Robertson became a First Degree Knight on April 4, 2016, and a Second and Third Degree Knight April 10, 2016 at Vienna. The Fourth Degree is the final degree for full Knighthood in the Knights of Columbus. He is a member of St. Gabriel Council 12650 in Houston and St. John Paul II Assembly 3196 in West Plains.
Robertson was born Dec. 27, 1995 in Springfield with a Grade 4 brain hemorrhage. He has Hydrocephalus, Cerebral Palsy, Osteo Pena, and has a seizure disorder. He also has a VP Shunt.
Robertson is a 2015 Houston High School graduate and is employed at Opportunity Sheltered Industries in Houston. He is the son of Matt and Amber Robertson of Houston.
HHS GRADUATE AWARDED SCHOLARSHIP FROM MSU-WEST PLAINS
Danielle N. Alferink of Houston has been awarded the Adeline E. Moore Non-Traditional Book Scholarship from Missouri State University-West Plains.
Alferink, a 2013 graduate of Houston High School, is a general studies major at Missouri State-West Plains. She is the daughter of Russell Reed of Houston.
HHS ALUM ATTENDS SCIENTIC MEETING AT UNIVERSITY OF WISCONSIN
Houston native Caroline Dunn attended the Molecular Genetics of Bacteria and Phages International Meeting at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. She had the opportunity to present the findings of her own research at the meeting.
Dunn was awarded a life sciences grant to conduct research in molecular biology this past spring at her undergraduate institute, the University of Missouri-Columbia. Her supervising professor, Dr. Pamela Brown, and several graduate students attended.
Dunn, a 2014 graduate of Houston High School, is entering her junior year at Mizzou, majoring in biology. She conducted research at the Cancer Research Center in Columbia as a participant in the Discovery Fellows Program at the university from August 2014 until July 2015. She was accepted into Dr. Brown’s research lab in August 2015.
She is the daughter of Dr. Tom and DeeDee Dunn of Houston.
