State officials Monday morning unanimously approved Houston’s proposed assisted living facility.
The Missouri Health Facilities Review Committee gave a 7-0 vote for the city to move forward with Country View Assisted Living. Ron Reed, Houston’s economic development director, said the next step is finalizing engineering and architectural plans during the next 30-45 days.
Reed was the spokesperson for a contingent that included Rubert and Karen Smith, who will build, own and administer the facility, as well as representatives from Landmark Bank and Archer-Elgin of Rolla. He said the board asked no questions following his 10-minute presentation and there was no opposition spoken against the proposal.
The proposed 22,000 square foot facility features 40 beds on a 5 1/2-acre lot on Industrial Drive.
