Betty Mae (Perryman) Cooper, 80, daughter of Charles Van and Ella Mae (Shipp) Perryman, was born Dec. 24, 1935, in Raymondville, Mo. She passed away Oct. 14, 2016, at Texas County Memorial Hospital.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Bennie Dean Cooper; her children, Betty Jean Faulkenberry, Bennie Charles Cooper, Bethany Dean Heiney, Barbara Jo Cooper, Beverly Ann Cooper and Billy Michael Cooper; two sisters, Olive Brannam and Jane Kirkwood; and a brother, Joseph A Perryman.

Betty is survived by a sister, Patsy Foutch of Havana, Ill.; a daughter, Bonnie Neal of Houston; two sisters-in-law, Jan Perryman and Ruth Best; two brothers-in-law, Herbert Kirkwood and Jack Cooper; grandkids, Gary and Diane Heiney, Julie and Richard Davis, Clifford and Heather Norris, Amy and Josh Hoffman, Seth Bryson and Jacob Heiney; four great-grandsons; seven great-granddaughters; one great-great granddaughter; and many nieces and nephews.

Betty grew up in Raymondville and attended Brown Hill School until the eighth grade. She received her GED later in life.

She married Bennie Dean Cooper on July 1, 1950, in Mountain Home, Ark.

Betty was baptized at an early age and enjoyed attending church at Brown Hill Baptist Church. She worked for the International Shoe factory and Lees Garment factory until she retired.

Betty loved to go fishing and hunting with her husband, gardening, putting puzzles together, playing dominos with friends, sewing and reading the weekly papers. She was active at the Houston Senior Center until her health began to fail.

She loved her family and will be greatly missed. She is now enjoying the beauty of heaven and her family and friends that were waiting for her arrival.

Services are 2 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 18, 2016, at Evans Funeral Home with Jackie Cooper officiating. Burial was in Central Baptist Cemetery under the direction of Evans Funeral Home. Pallbearers were Mack Cooper, Jerry Spencer, Gary Heiney, Clifford Norris, Tim Williams, Lucas McComas, Keith Baker and Ethan Norris. Honorary pallbearer was Gary Parrish.
