Texas County Memorial Hospital received a $5,000 grant last week to help fund the education and monitoring of diabetic patients.
Climb4ACure was founded in 2007 to raise funds to deliver supplies and treatment to underprivileged diabetics, to increase awareness that the underprivileged are disproportionately affected by the disease, and to increase awareness that physical fitness and proper diet are important in fighting the disease. In 2015, Climb4ACure reached $205,000 in total historical grants made to 38 healthcare-provider partners in 38 states.
“Our goal in 2016 is to reach another five clinics in five states and to make another $35,000 in grants that continue to reach those diabetics with limited means and access to the education, care and supplies they need to manage this terrible disease. In addition we have a stretch goal of making $50,000 in grants this year,” said Climb4ACure President Bryan Neider.
These healthcare-provider partnerships deliver education, supplies and support to diabetics who cannot afford the care that they need to fight the disease. Interested individuals can visit www.climb4acure.com and get involved by getting help to organize fundraising hikes, by Neider as he proceeds to summit the highest peak in all 50 states, or by making donations to honor others in their lives.
Climb4ACure is a 501(c)(3) non-profit corporation headquartered in Menlo Park, Calif.
