Houston resident Buck Wade holds a trophy he was presented for earning the “Golden Golfer” award for being the oldest golfer at the Senior Foundation for the Ozarks annual Fall Classic golf tournament Sept. 12 at Millwood Golf and Racquet Club in Springfield. The 40-team, 4-man scramble event raises funds for the foundation, which provides grants to 36 Ozarks senior centers, including the Houston Senior Center. Wade, 84, was teamed with local golfers Brad Eidson, Brent Kell and Stan Moore. The team shot 13-under par, four shots back of the winning score of 17-under. The tournament included players ranging in age from their late 20s to 84. Wade has played in the tournament three times. “I hope I get to play again next year,” he said.
