Military veteran

Charles “Charlie” Edward Tyree, 79, of Houston, passed away Sunday, Nov. 20, 2016, in Springfield.

He was born Jan. 17, 1937, in Bland, son of Alfred 
Russell and Lizzie Elizabeth Redden Tyree.

He served in the Army during the Korean War. He was a truck driver all his life.

He loved spending time with his family and being outdoors.

He was preceded in death by his three sons, John Tyree, Darrell 
Tyree and Jimmie Bever; three sisters: Violet Steinback, Flora 
Matthews and Pearl Tyree; and a brother, Earl Tyree.

Survivors include his wife, Erma Jean Stark Tyree; five children, Ronald Tyree, Don Tyree, Janis Flemming, Sharelle Bever and Eldon Bever; a sister, Rhonda Wilson; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and many nieces, 
nephews, other 
relatives and friends.

Services were 1 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 23, at Fox Funeral Home with Pastor Doug Collins officiating. Burial will be in Williams Cemetery.
